So, the first Quidditch game didn't go so well. At least I didn't get hurt? Not that I'd have minded - I think I did manage to wing someone with a bludger though, so at least I was doing my job. We all were! Sometimes games just don't go your way, right?
I miss football. Never thought I'd say that when I get to play Quidditch.

I got an owl from Dad. He and mum are fine. He wasn't at the Ministry last night. But he says that he's getting reports that a lot of people who work in the Maintenance department were killed.
They're fine! They're going to go and stay with mum's aunt.

I forgot to write it down in this thing yesterday, but Happy Birthday to Geoff, and also to Flissa who I don't know as well! Brilliant day.
Except now I have to think about what I'm going to dress up as for this feast and dance. I mean, do we have to dress up? Blokes, are you dressing up? Can I just wear my Quidditch uniform and say I'm dressed up as a Quidditch player?

Thanks, everyone, for the birthday gifts. It was a good haul. Plus, Quidditch tryouts went well I think! List of players won't come out until all the other Houses have their line ups ready, I guess, but I think I flew much better than last year!
Oh - Also. What the hell is wrong with some of you people? You know who you are. That's not how you talk to girls. Especially girls you don't even know. Who raised you? And then someone pointed out to me that there are girls who do the same thing - that's not as bad, I guess, just maybe means they don't have respect for themselves or something. But a bloke mouths off like that to a girl - he deserves to be punched in the mouth.

That all made me a little nervous. If I hadn't been watching these journals, not sure I'd have figured out what to do. Still, Magical Creatures is brilliant this year, all the same. Even if it's going to be a little worrisome watching the bloody things now when weather changes.
Wonder what they do when they get really hot? But don't think I want to try that, either.

That was a lot of fun. I've never been to a Weird Sisters show, and never to a concert that big at all. I mean, maybe not as exciting as a Quidditch match, but still pretty damn wicked!
I can't believe we go back to Hogwarts on Thursday. It's really too soon, but I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, too.

So, two weeks to school? Everyone's talking about how the summer's dragging on and things, and being ready to go back to school, but I think it's bloody well flown by. I've had a great time with my muggle mates. Going back to school means leaving a lot of things behind, you know.
At least I get to take less classes this year.

I was pretty excited about this journal thing, when Ellie and Maisie had theirs and I didn't. But Maisie isn't even using it, and I forgot about mine after the first day and it ended up under my bed.
I don't have anything to say anyway. Fireballs are undefeated this summer! And I've sent a lot of hours working the market stall with my granddad, which is nice for money in my pocket.
Reading these is starting to feel like homework, though.
You don't think we'll actually have to do things with them for classes, do you, since they were on the books list?

I gave Ellie so much trouble about this book, and now I've got a headache from watching it, I think. If it didn't show who was writing, I'd never be able to follow who was saying what. Plus, I don't know what to write here, and I've never really liked reading. Still, a lot more fun than our usual books!
And thanks to everyone who asked how Dad was doing. He's fine. He was evacuated with the rest of his office, I guess, when the things started at the Ministry. He's been working long hours this week, though, to help get everything cleaned and sorted.
